Who we are

The Open Logistics Foundation (established in 2021) is a non-profit and operationally working foundation based in Dortmund that fosters open-source applications in logistics. The foundation’s primary purpose is to build a European open-source community to promote digitalization in logistics and supply chain management based on open source and standardize logistics processes utilizing de facto standards. The foundation operates the repository, a technical platform for open source software and hardware. It makes interfaces, reference implementations and components available via open source under a free license (permissive license). It monitors the quality and security of the open-source tools and guarantees neutrality in its development. The Open Logistics Foundation works based on European legal standards and values, it is independent and addresses IT developers and users from all areas of logistics.

We are currently looking for support for our team as

Communications and Marketing Manager (F/M/D) for the Open Logistics Foundation based in Dortmund, Germany.

Your tasks

  • You are a manager of our new website. Through your customer-focused thinking you create new ideas, campaigns, and texts. You work in Wordpress to continuously care and further develop our web presentation. You are able to write texts and coordinate our partners and service providers.
  • You are a manager and editor of our social media channels. You are a creative person and you think of new cross-channel campaigns. Storytelling is your strength.
  • You are part of the planning, realisation and follow-up of events and trade fair appearances.
  • You also support in the link between communications and innovation management to strengthen our community.

Your profile

  • You think outside the box, show initiative in challenging ideas, bring in a lot of energy and have the willingness to build up the Foundation with us.
  • You have a completed Bachelor or Masters degree, preferably in Marketing, Business Administration, Management, Journalism or equivalent education.
  • 1-3 years of experience/profound background are welcome.
  • You work confidently with Microsoft Office programmes (especially PowerPoint) and have knowledge of common graphics programmes, e.g. Adobe Creative Suite.
  • You are open for innovation and open ideation methods and could gain first experiences.
  • Excellent spoken and written English is a must, good German language skills would be an advantage.
