Who we are

The Open Logistics Foundation (established in 2021) is a non-profit and operationally working foundation based in Dortmund that fosters open-source applications in logistics. The foundation’s primary purpose is to build a European open-source community to promote digitalization in logistics and supply chain management based on open source and standardize logistics processes utilizing de facto standards.

The foundation operates the repository, a technical platform for open source software and hardware. It makes interfaces, reference implementations and components available via open source under a free license (permissive license). It monitors the quality and security of the open-source tools and guarantees neutrality in its development. The Open Logistics Foundation works based on European legal standards and values, it is independent and addresses IT developers and users from all areas of logistics.

OPEN SOURCE PROGRAM MANAGER (F/M/D)

for the Open Logistics Foundation head office in Dortmund, Germany. 

Your tasks

  • Coordinate existing working groups and open source projects of the Foundation to build successful results.
  • Facilitating and accompanying the open ideation process, from the first ideas to open source implementations.
  • Act as a link between the Foundation’s different open source projects to foster synergies.
  • Enable company partners to use the Foundation’s repository by providing support, training, advice and help to manage the open source process.
  • Represent the Foundation and build a link to additional open source initiatives and the open source community in general to establish the Open Logistics Foundation as an active part of the wider community.
  • Motivate more logistic-related projects to become open source and move to the Open Logistics Foundation.

Your profile

You live open source and can motivate people to work together! The following properties are useful as supplementary features:

  • You have some years of experience running developer relations or community advocacy programs, preferably open source and technical in nature.
  • In depth knowledge of the open source ecosystem.
  • You can facilitate sensitive and complex community situations with humility, empathy, judgment, tact, and humor.
  • Familiarity with developer tools, Git, GitLab and Continuous Integration.
  • Open for agile innovation and open ideation methods.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
